Right Now Radio returns in 2011 for His glory, honor, and praise! Please join RNR each week for an uncompromising look at current events from a Biblical and prophetic perspective. Right Now Radio intends to mix the commands given to us in Ephesians 5:11 and Matthew 10:16 with the truth found in Proverbs 25:2. Most importantly, RNR is committed to reminding people of the hope that is embodied in Jesus Christ and having an "eternal" perspective in this life. Despite all the chaos and uncertainty that surrounds us, we can take comfort knowing that our Heavenly Father remains in full control. Please join the discussion and arm yourself with the knowledge of the truth.

A FEW MORE THOUGHTS...

I just wouldn't feel right if I didn't also point out that many of us live in a nation that is free; free in the sense that we not only have access to God's Word whenever we want it, but also free in the sense that we have the luxury of engaging in regular conversations and studies like this, which is why we must make sure that we are ALWAYS taking them very, very seriously.

My dear friends, we have brothers and sisters in Christ in other parts of the world RIGHT NOW who are being violently persecuted for their Christian faith; some even unto death. For them, Bibles are scarce, and they don't merely sit on some bookshelf at home collecting dust. For them, they're more concerned with maturing in their faith by applying God's Word to their daily lives, and not just merely giving the appearances of being a Christian to others by talking the talk without walking the walk. For them, they're more concerned with preaching the Gospel than they are about analyzing the news and debating various issues. Sadly, far too many of us never really appreciate how easy we have it, how blessed we have been. Please, let us never forget any of that because it will help us to approach these weekly podcasts with the proper attitude, the proper point of view, and the proper amount of respect for the blessings that God has bestowed upon us.

One final note before you tune in. 2 Peter 1:19-21 tells us the following in regards to prophecy (or what makes Christianity unique when compared to any other religion): "And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit." 2 Peter 2:1-3, the very next verses, go on to say, "But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping." I bring this up for a very important reason.

Look, I'm no expert, I didn't got to Seminary School (yet, God willing), I don't have a degree in Theology (yet, God willing), and so I don't have all the answers. There are going to be times on this show when all we can do is speculate and give a subjective opinion about how things might play out on the path to the fulfillment of prophecy. I want to assure you that in those cases, I will always start by "rightly dividing the word of truth", but I will also be crystal clear to point out to you those times when all we can do is make an educated guess based on the body of evidence. That "body of evidence" will always be made up of the Biblical prophetic passages and the numerous news headlines that seem to be the related signs of the times.

Still, I want to encourage you to have your Bible nearby -- better yet, have it open, and have it next to you where it's easily accessible because the truth's all in there -- so that you can follow along during this program and act like a Berean. Who were the Bereans, you ask? Acts 17:11 gives us the answer: "Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." So, please join me "with great eagerness" so that we can properly understand how certain news stories are prophetically relevant, so we can understand these times we're living in, and so we can understand how we, as Christians, are supposed to view various subjects let alone how we're supposed to react and respond to them Biblically.

This foundation is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY before we can examine and explore the kinds of things that are on the agenda each week. The problem I have with Christianity today is that it's more "flash" than "faith", more "pizzazz" than "penance", more "style" than "substance", more about using "smoke-and-mirrors" than about using the Bible to preach "repentance for sins, faith unto salvation", so speaking the truth BEFORE tackling a full range of subjects, is completely consistent with my beliefs on how we should approach this kind of study -- Scripturally and systematically at all times.

QUESTION #1: What do we mean when we say we are set free by grace alone?

QUESTION #2: What's the big deal about the controversy between the Obama Administration and the Catholic Church? Is it wrong for Christians to use birth control? Is it a sin?

QUESTION #3: Who were the 'sons of God' in Genesis 6? Were they Angels or descendants of Seth? What do we know about Angels? Can they take on human form and interact with us?

Right Now Radio returns in 2012 for His glory, honor, and praise! Please join RNR each Friday night. During Hour #1, we'll reach into the RNR Mailbag from the past week and try to answer as many different questions as we can from a Biblical worldview. In Hour #2, we'll provide you with an uncompromising look at current events from an eschatological worldview, or through the prism of prophecy. Right Now Radio intends to mix the commands given to us in 2 Timothy 2:15, Acts 17:11, Ephesians 5:11, and Matthew 10:16 with the truth found in Proverbs 25:2. Most importantly, RNR is committed to reminding people of the hope that is embodied in Jesus Christ and in having an 'eternal' perspective of this life.
RNR 2011: The Debt Ceiling And Luke 16

President Obama says it's just the first step. Lovely. Earlier today, America lost any hopes that it had for a solution to this nation's messy credit problems as we witnessed the largest debt hike in our country's history. From what we do know, this agreement would raise the debt ceiling an additional $2.4 trillion in exchange for $1.2 trillion in cuts over the next decade. Unfortunately for taxpayers, most of these cuts are to what the country would have spent, not what we are spending. In other words, the government will keep growing, just at a slower rate. Is it any wonder that the Lord is going to destroy this nation's economy as a form of divine judgment for our unrepentant sins? He will show (He is showing) the world that the god that they've set up in place of Him -- the economy, finances, and money -- cannot possibly provide them lasting happiness, peace, and security. Please join us as we view the economy and money through God's eyes and consider the relationship between this week's big news and Luke 16.

RNR 2011: Dangers Of A Diluted Gospel

This brief message touches on the heart of a very serious threat facing the church in the last days. Namely, Satan's plan to neutralize the real power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by diluting it. The result is that the world will continue to get worse, and that includes the state of contemporary Christianity, which will struggle to fight a constant battle with growing apostasy. In addition, end times Bible prophecy confirms the fact that a 'revival' of sorts is not in our future. It all reminds me of Luke 18:8 "I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" So, with all of that in mind, what is the proper response from us? How can we learn to spot a diluted Gospel? What is the role of repentance and establishing deep roots in God's Word?

<itunes:summary>This brief message touches on the heart of a very serious threat facing the church in the last days. </itunes:summary>

What do a handful of baseball related events within the past week have to do with Christianity? Not much, except that they all prompted me to think about some key truths about my faith and whether or not I'm applying them to my own life at this very moment. Believe it or not, three separate MLB related events got me to prayerfully consider the end times, idolatry, saints, and the Christian lifestyle.
RNR 2011: God's Plan For The Gay Agenda

The 3rd and final part to this important series. Evangelicalism has lost its tolerance for Biblical preaching and now the church is flirting with serious doctrinal error. The church is throwing its arms open wide and embracing every kind of aberrant viewpoint. Christians madly pursue extra-Biblical revelation in the form of prophecies and dreams. Preachers deny the reality of Hell. The modern Gospel promises Heaven apart from holiness. Churches ignore the Biblical teaching on women’s roles, homosexuality, and other issues that are somehow always politically charged. The human medium has overtaken the divine message and this is evidence of a serious doctrinal compromise. 2 Timothy 4:3 says plainly, "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires," Welcome to that day and age. What is God’s plan for the gay agenda? God's plan for many homosexuals is that they come to salvation. There were former homosexuals in the Corinthian church back in Paul's day, just as there are many former homosexuals today in many churches, in many faithful churches, around the country. With regenerated hearts, they sit in Biblical churches throughout the country praising their Savior, along with former fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, thieves, coveters, drunkards, revilers, and swindlers. Remember, such were some of you too. Lastly, we discuss the prophetic implications of a society that embraces homosexuality from an historical and Biblical viewpoint.
RNR 2011: Doctrines Of Men, Doctrines Of Demons

Who are they? In a word, hypocrites. Those of you who identify yourselves as being a 'Christian', but who are reluctant to stand up for what you believe in. I want to speak to you today because you are doing a great disservice to the Lord. You’re not being the "salt and the light of the earth" as you should be! Here's a hint regarding tonight's topic from a Sermon given Walter Martin in 1980: "So what got him to Mars Hill and out [into] the marketplace where people could listen to him on the higher echelons of learning, and to penetrate and to permeate all other levels—as a result—was the fact that within himself he was provoked at the presence of evil. And I think the Christian Church has to be provoked, always, at the presence of evil. The great sin of the church today, and there are a number, is that we are apathetic, lethargic—happy to go along with the tide—and courageous when it doesn’t cost us something. And because of that, today we have a whole community of individuals for whom Jesus Christ died—the gay community—and they’re not being ministered to, they’re not being penetrated, they’re not being successfully evangelized. And because the church will not move forward, [it] has become essentially impotent in the area because it doesn’t want to 'get involved.' Evangelical Christianity has drawn back from the conflict, liberal Christianity has plunged into it; not with the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the soul, but attempting to find some rationale for the permission of the acts—which of course is and scholastic, theological, and historical madness." The greatest threat to our shared faith does not come from outside the church, but from inside the church. It's time we started to fulfill our calling by pointing our the un-Scriptural errors running rampant throughout Christianity today. Please join me and pray that the Holy Spirit would prepare hearts and minds to receive this message with the same spirit (out of love; a love for lost souls; a love for the truth) that it was created in.

RNR 2011: God Or 'Tolerance'?

God help us! Tonight, my home state of New York voted to legalize gay marriage. I can't say I'm surprised at all by this because it's just another clear sign of the times. No, I'm just saddened. My heart genuinely breaks for the millions of people who are caught up in the snares of sin without even realizing it. To those who are embracing sin of any kind (not just the homosexual lifestyle) and who are constantly rejected God, a warning: God is real. Satan is real. Hell is real. We are all sinners in need of God's saving grace. The wages of sin is death. Repent for your sins and seek Jesus Christ for forgiveness, mercy, and salvation or suffer damnation for eternity in Hell. To my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, a reality check: If you call yourself a Christian, but you support 'gay rights' (and you're happy about this ruling), then I hate to break it to you, but you're not a Christian. You either believe all of God's Word or none of it. Picking and choosing the parts of God you like and discarding the parts you hate is to create a God for yourself that doesn't exist, and that's called 'idolatry', and that's a sin in God's eyes. Sadly, 'tolerance' is quickly becoming our new god. Lastly, I'm just going to say it -- Christians need to do more to uphold the sanctity of marriage, both publicly and privately. That might seem like an obvious "Well, duh!" type of statement, but recent news and statistics in this declining, immoral nation say otherwise.

RNR 2011: 'Mahdi' Near? Islamic Prophecy? Muslim Antichrist?

A "Special Report" of sorts, if not a downright new format for Right Now Radio. In the news this week? An Iranian video says the Mahdi is "near" to making his emergence upon the world (http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2011/March/Iranian-Regime-Video-Says-Mahdi-is-Near-/). I thought we would try to tackle what this means for students of Bible prophecy by examining a little about what Islam believes about the last days, and, if we have time (God willing), we'll try to address the popular (but Biblical?) "Muslim Antichrist" interpretation of Scripture that's sweeping the globe.
